<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Chromosomal microarray analysis is the state-of-the-art of clinical cytogenetics, providing efficient and high-resolution diagnostics of unbalanced chromosomal rearrangements. Current recommendations define the indications for chromosomal microarray analysis in postnatal and prenatal diagnostics of constitutive chromosomal anomalies. Approaches to interpretation of the clinical significance of detected chromosomal variants, as well as genetic counseling for families of patients with chromosomal diseases are discussed. Emphasis is given to the priority of expert opinion and collaboration between molecular cytogeneticist and clinical geneticist in assessing the pathogenetic significance of chromosomal variants and the strategy for subsequent laboratory examination of the patient.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>хромосомный микроматричный анализ (ХМА)</kwd><kwd>матричная сравнительная геномная гибридизация (array-CGH)</kwd><kwd>молекулярное кариотипирование</kwd><kwd>вариации числа копий участков ДНК (CNV)</kwd><kwd>хромосомный мозаицизм</kwd><kwd>пренатальная диагностика</kwd><kwd>медико-генетическое консультирование</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA)</kwd><kwd>array-based comparative genomic hybridization (array-CGH)</kwd><kwd>molecular karyotyping</kwd><kwd>copy number variations (CNV)</kwd><kwd>chromosomal mosaicism</kwd><kwd>prenatal diagnosis</kwd><kwd>genetic counselling</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Разработка рекомендаций поддержана грантом РНФ № 21-65-000177, https://rscf.ru/project/21-65-00017/ (генетические исследования)</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">Russian Science Foundation, № 21-65-00017, https://rscf.ru/en/project/21-65-00017/</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Miller D.T., Adam M.P., Aradhya S. et al.
