<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The aim of our study was to investigate the relationship between GSS A/G (rs1801310) gene polymorphism and the development of UM in the population of Central Russia. 336 patients with UM and 205 healthy women were enrolled in this study. Genotyping of A/G gene polymorphism was performed through TaqMan assay. Allele G was associated with increased risk of UM development (OR = 1,30; 95% Cl = 1,01-1,67; p = 0,04). Meanwhile we observed the protective effect of AA genotype on the development of UM (OR = 0,60; 95% Cl = 0,39-0,94; p = 0,03).</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>миома матки</kwd><kwd>наследственная предрасположенность</kwd><kwd>окислительный стресс</kwd><kwd>глутатион</kwd><kwd>ген GSS</kwd><kwd>uterine fibroids</kwd><kwd>genetic predisposition</kwd><kwd>oxidative stress</kwd><kwd>glutathione</kwd><kwd>the GSS gene</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Baird, D.D., Dunson, D.B., Hill, M.C., et al.
